Background

I’ve spent much of my life improving the lives of children and advocating for their rights. After receiving my BA in psychology at the University of Texas - Austin, I’ve worked several jobs, including as a caseworker for Children’s Protective Services, as a therapist with children with autism, as an after school tutor for children from low-income families, and as a researcher of children's health.

Higher Education

After getting my PhD in Social Psychology and Social Behavior at the University of California, Irvine, I worked at Riverside County Department of Social Services (DPSS) before working with the Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA), in the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) office for 5 years. At OCHCA, I managed several projects and contracts ranging from $202,2000 to $970,000 that improved the lives of Orange County residents.

I’m currently a Public Health Statistician at the Center for Health Equity Research at California State University, Long Beach, where I work to improve the lives of Orange County and Los Angeles County residents.

Family

I’m also a husband and father of 2 small kids, so I know how important is to raise a family in a city that prioritizes children, education, and families. Besides spending time with my kids, I also enjoy exercising, reading books, watching anime, and playing piano.
